In 2018 the OECD reported that in Portugal it takes five
generations for a family to get out of poverty. In the country's metropolitan
areas, poverty is concentrated in State-promoted social housing neighbourhoods
and in still existing self-built neighbourhoods. Urban buildings and spaces
where internal and external migratory routes merge. Recently and already in the
midst of a pandemic, a Nova SBE study revealed that 25% of non-European
foreigners are at risk of poverty in the country and that the distinctive
factor for this risk lies in academic and curricular opportunity. How can we
break with the status quo? With what tools? How can we see territory as power?
And after all, what does all this have to do with representation?
