Nenny is Marlene Tavares, born in Vialonga near Vila Franca de Xira. Music came to her early, as she grew up in an environment filled with it. Her parents, both Cape Verdean, filled the house with a lot of funaná and kizomba. It was in this context that the artist ventured into writing her first lyrics to a song when she was only 10 years old. Today, Nenny combines several musical styles and influences such as rap, trap, soul, R&B and afro. She released her first single “Sushi” in March 2019 which was followed by “Bússola” two months later. These two songs immediately catapulted Nenny's name into the spotlight of the Portuguese hip hop scene. In 2020 she released her first EP “Aura” and was nominated for two Play – Portuguese Music Awards.
