The workshop by multidisciplinary group El Warcha in Vale de Chelas was developed with children from the neighbourhood, in partnership with Associação Geração Com Futuro, and built a new community space. To this end, contact was established with the participants and residents who began to imagine a space filled with music, fun and play — a playful, comfortable and stimulating space for the creativity of kids and adults alike.

The non-profit cultural association El Warcha Lisboa is part of a network of community workshops around the world. Their work promotes practical and manual education, facilitating the production and sharing of knowledge. Adopting a collaborative methodology to build community spaces, the group wants to foster social inclusion, self-employment and the development of paid activities for its users, usually from some of the most vulnerable communities.
